Summary[edit]

Description
English: A solitary bus visits Woodside bus station, Birkenhead, Merseyside, England, during its final days in this incarnation. Historically serving as the main transport hub for Birkenhead, Woodside declined in importance ever since the closure of the former adjacent mainline railway station and even more since the scaling back of the ferry services and finally the opening of Birkenhead bus station, half a mile away. Birkenhead bus station now serves as the main bus hub in Birkenhead, with just a skeleton service of occasional buses routed through Woodside. The service has been reduced to such an extent that as of 2013 the bus station as photographed is to be dismantled and replaced with some ordinary bus shelters.
