DescriptionWorcester (1863 steamship).jpg |
English: The steamship Worcester in service with the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad after the American Civil War. Originally built in New York under the name Glaucus, she was purchased by the US Navy before completion, converted into a gunboat and served during the war as USS Glaucus. After the war, she was reconverted into a passenger-cargo steamship, renamed Worcester, and briefly used in transatlantic service before being transferred to service between Boston and Canada. She was broken up in 1894. |
