Description
中文（繁體）：新埔西河堂（林浩流公廳）於2015（民國104）年公告登錄為歷史建築，座落於新埔義民路三段。現今正廳搭起保護棚架，等待修復中。

新埔西河堂前望鳳山溪、後以枋寮山為靠，其所在的地理環境也呼應風水上「環抱圍護」、「前敞後實」的特色。由正廳往前望去，以犁頭山為案山，正廳後方化胎則以莿竹林為靠，更後方為枋寮山，為西河堂在風水上背後穩重的「靠山」。

1766（乾隆31）年，廣東省饒平縣扶陽樓人林浩流渡海來臺，原落腳在六家，約於1784（乾隆49）年遷至新埔枋寮定居。新埔西河堂曾於1928（昭和3）年修建，格局屬「一堂六橫」的大型夥房，左右各三槓橫屋為子孫居住之空間，中央廳堂則為祭祀空間。日治時期，林家獲官方特許在西河堂可販售鴉片烟供人吸食，故稱為「烟香公廳」或烟店。因此，西河堂可說是臺灣少見，具有販賣鴉片烟執照的建築，也可以從西河堂窺見過去臺人吸食鴉片的歷史。

新埔西河堂具有濃厚的客家風格建築，其前有內外埕，圍牆圍籬，後有化胎、水井及植栽圍籬；其中，以堂屋最具特色，為燕尾屋頂，正堂建物裝飾精美，有木雕、彩繪、泥塑、剪黏，保存完整，彩繪是已故名師「邱鎮邦」的作品，藝術價值甚高。而其水車堵上的泥塑、正廳牆上的書畫、彩繪都透漏著濃厚的警示或教育意義。
