Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This town served as an Ottoman capital, after Söğüt, Eskişehir and Karacahisar and before Bursa, (which still had to be conquered in the time we speak of, early 14th century). The most interesting part would have been a külliye (a complex of a mosque and surrounding buildings like a soup kitchen and a medrese, and maybe a hospital). The mosque, the Sinan Paşa Camii, looked alright but was closed. A former han was reduced to its foundations. Another part (that seemed to have been the lodgings for a Janissary regiment) was in use, as a special school for pupils from all over the country. The inside was redone in an eclectic style.
