Summary

[edit]
Description

Industriequartier - Giessereistrasse Since 1898, the foundry hall built by Maschinenfabrik Escher Wyss has been a focal point. Until the end of the industrial age, iron was cast and processed in the foundry hall in sweat-inducing work. In 1975, the blast furnaces were switched off and the hall was used as a warehouse and workshop for almost 30 years.

Puls 5 raises the foundry hall again. It forms today with the adjoining Turbine Square the heart of Zurich west.
