Description
English: It should be noted that the first issue of the magazine “Sportsman” was published in 2004 on January 31. Along with the promotion of sports and the Olympic Movement, the magazine established the “Zafar” High Sports Achievements Award in 2007 with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan. This award is awarded to athletes who have achieved the highest sporting achievements, coaches, sports specialists, various organizations supporting Azerbaijani sports. In 2016, on January 29, at the presentation of “Zafar 2015”held at “Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel”, The Maltese Secretary General of the World Association of Sports Journalists (AIPS) Charlie Kamenzuli and French Christoph Mousset were awarded the “Zafar” award for their contribution to the development of sports. Thus, this project of” Sportsman "magazine won the status of” Victory International Sports Award".
