Alice Westlake (1842 – 1923), an engraver, painter and activist for women's rights.
Inscription (on the rear of the cross) reads,
Alice Westlake, wife of John Westlake, KC, LLD, DCL. Died in Chelsea 11th August, 1923.
Her husband, John Westlake, KC, LLD, DCL, Professor of International Law in the University of Cambridge from 1888 to 1908
Born at Lostwithiel, February 4, 1828
Died in Chelsea, April 14, 1913.
