Summary

[edit]
Description Though it's not a beautiful cemetery, it's impressively well kept considering its location: on a gravel road in rural Smith County with no sign of life anywhere in the vicinity. The sign in front of it says that this was the site of Zion Lutheran Church, organized in 1855, but the church is long gone. Smith County has a large number of Lutheran churches and cemeteries, no doubt because of the large number of families of German background who migrated to that part of Mississippi from the Dutch Fork area of South Carolina in the mid nineteenth century.. GPS coordinates and map are here.
