Description‘Church of St. Michael the Archangel’ Kaunas.jpg | This house of worship was built between 1891-1893. It was meant for the Kaunas stronghold soldiers, as a representational building for the Kaunas Army Fortress, expressing luxury and officialdom. The Kaunas residents call it Soboras (Russian Orthodox Cathedral). When Sovjet ideology became active, from 1962 right up to the 1990’s, it belonged to a gallery of the art museum. After the occupation the Sobor was appointed to the Lithuanian Army’s Kaunas garrison’s use and a parish was established. | ||
