Editing mistake[edit]
I suppose it's a bit late to point this out now that it has been elected POTY, but there's a pretty obvious editing mistake right in the middle of the picture: a piece of the removed horse's muzzle is still visible through the grass blades below the other horse's tail.
Also, I suspect that, if the removed horse really wasn't there, there'd be a strip of grass visible in the area that was obscured by its muzzle, between where the grass ends in this version and the mountains in the background; otherwise the contour that starts to the right of the standing horse's hooves would have to make a pretty sharp downturn. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 16:58, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

- There is also another version File:Biandintz eta zaldiak - modified.jpg by User:Niabot that is higher in resolution and had less of the artifacts (some shadow details were adjusted too). I wonder why that version was not chosen at the time of the vote? Shawnc (talk) 21:08, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

- Hello. These horse are too heavy to be Pottokak, and chesnut coat color is very rare or forbidden in this breed. Probably Basque Mountain Horse. --Tsaag Valren (talk) 21:03, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
Animal Mistreatment[edit]
I'm amazed that a foto showing animal mistreatment became foto of the year. Horses have sensitive ears and a bell hanging from the neck all day must be an irritation. --Konijnewolf (talk) 16:47, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
