yellow thing[编辑]

What is the yellow on the Italian girl's head? --Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 08:15, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[回复]

To me it looks like a hair ribbon. --Slomox (talk) 10:51, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[回复]
Ah, thank you, duh I see it now. --Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 10:52, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[回复]

cropping[编辑]

Don't you think the file uploaded by Idrougge in 2008 was better for this postcard as historic archive? I don't know if the trimming of the margins was necessary only for 2kB to earn.--Azukimame (talk) 19:31, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[回复]

User:Kintetsubuffalo added a "crop this image" tag, so I cropped it as far as possible using a lossless JPEG cropping tool in order to fend off somebody else coming along and doing a lossy crop. It's not to save filesize, but so that it will display better as thumbnail in Wikipedia articles. In any case, the original version is still available for anybody to download... Source specification[编辑]

Idrougge , could you please provide a precise source?
-If you picked the file from the internet - please provide a specific URL.
-If you digitized it yourself, then please state so and therefore please specify the book you took as source, e.g. giving the ISBN number. If possible add pagenumber.
-If you made a diagram yourself - please provide your Template or data-source
-If there is a sourcecode used in generation, it is highly appreciated to provide it.
Thanks in advance. --Itu (留言) 19:25, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]

This was already discussed somewhere before (but I can't find where). A 1938 Japanese book is not going to have an ISBN, but its Japanese title is given in the source field... AnonMoos (留言) 06:03, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]
At least books are supposed to have a title ...
日本語: アップロード者所蔵の葉書 translates to "Japanese: Postcard of the collection of uploaders" with google, not clear for me --Itu (留言) 13:42, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]

Source was Japanese Wikipedia. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/画像:1938_Naka_yoshi_sangoku.jpg -- Idrougge (留言) 21:00, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]

Thats not a source. --Itu (留言) 13:42, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]

I was under the impression that this had been discussed elsewhere on Commons, but it turns out that my memory was faulty, and that was actually a different file "Image:Reinhard_Tristan_Eugen_Heydrich.jpg" (though some of the same issues might apply to that one and this one) -- see Commons:Village_pump/Archive/2008/05#Rules_about_language_for_image_description.3F. Sorry I was inadvertently misleading... AnonMoos (留言) 00:21, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]

Konoe Fumimaro[编辑]

The caption beneath the middle portrait reads (from right to left) "近衞首相", (Konoe Prime Minister), and, based on other photos of both persons, the picture appears to depict Konoe Fumimaro, not Hirohito. The corresponding captions beneath the other two portraits are "ムッソリーニ” (Mussolini) and "ヒットラー" (Hitler).

The image also does not explicitly mention the Tripartite Pact, despite containing the flags of the initial three nations involved in that pact. - Rotary Engine (留言) 04:29, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[回复]
