Scope[edit]

Is there a reason the "failed to qualify" countries only include those teams that played in the final qualifiers, and not all those who participated in the WCL 2015-2018. These would definitely need to include:

  • Eliminated 2018 WCL Div 2: Canada, Namibia, Oman, Kenya
  • Eliminated 2017 WCL Div 3: Singapore, United States, Uganda, Malaysia
  • Eliminated 2016 WCL Div 4: Denmark, Bermuda, Jersey, Italy
  • Eliminated 2016 WCL Div 5: Guernsey, Vanuatu, Tanzania, Nigeria
  • Eliminated 2015 WCL Div 6: Norway, Suriname, Botswana, Fiji, Cayman Islands, Saudi Arabia†*

† didn't play in tournament but did qualify for Div 6

There could also be the teams that competed in the qualifiers for the 2015 WCL Div 6:

  • Europe: France
  • East Asia-Pacific: Samoa, Japan, Philippines
  • Africa: Ghana
  • Americas: [no tournament listed - possibly no other entrants besides Suriname]
  • Asia: Kuwait, Maldives, Bahrain, Bhutan

All these countries could have qualified if they won all their matches.

It's just to keep the map simpler. For the previous years' maps I also kept the final qualifiers only. Χ (talk) 09:16, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Traditionally, being correct is more important than being simple. Qualification didn't start with the qualifier - even according to the ICC. You don't see the list of attempted qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup only include those who made the intercontinental qualifiers - even though that would be easier. 175.45.116.69 02:00, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The map is not incorrect. The legend describes exactly what is being shown. χ (talk) 08:53, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
