A great photo of this, but if I'm not mistaken this is not the cave 3 inscription but the one that reads as follows: 1) kappe-arabhaṭṭan śiṣṭa-jana-priyan 2) kaṣṭha-jana-varjitan kali-yuga-viparītan [||*] 3) varan=tejasvino mṛttyu (tyu)r=na tu mān-āvakhaṇḍanam 4) mṛttyu(tyu)s=tatkṣaṇiko duḥkam=mānabhaṃgan=dine-dine [||*]

Translation.

Kappe Arabhaṭṭa was beloved by excellent people and avoided by evil people, and was an exceptional man in the Kaliyuga. Better is a glorious death that the destruction of reputation: death is a pain that lasts for an instant, but the destruction of reputation abides from day to day.
