A Syrian claim per NPOV

[edit]

Just a small sample of reliable sources that state that the destruction was the result of "war time damage." Some sources actually refer to Syrian claims as a "crude fabrication," while others say the damage resulted from Syrian artillery fire. Others maintain that Syria deliberately caused the damage with the intent of blaming Israel and using it for propaganda.[1][2][3][4][5] Accordingly, I'm going to make changes that are more in line with NPOV. Jiujitsuguy has cherry picked sources and ignored the majority view, as can be seen here:[6], its not a Syrian pov, but a majority view. This makes Jiujitsuguys edit factually incorrect. The description could just say: "Al Quneitra is a destroyed town in the Golan Heights.", this wouldn't contradict if you don't believe the majority view that Israel destroyed it. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 18:19, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There arent "Syrian claims", the UN is not a part of Syria. Academic researches are not a part of Syria. Nableezy (talk)

The report was never endorsed by the UNSC. It has no legal or binding effect and carries about as much weight as the "investigative reports" sanctioned by the UNHRC and its human rights stalwarts like Libya, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.--Jiujitsuguy (talk) 18:19, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody said it was the UNSC. However, the UN is not a part of Syria. Neither is the Encyclopedia Britannica, nor Dianna Darke, nor is John Karam, nor is Robert Fisk, nor is the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants which reported that "Before leaving, however, the Israelis leveled the city with bulldozers and dynamite." None of these are "claims" made by Syria, and it is incredibly dishonest to pretend that they are. Nableezy (talk) 01:12, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
