This map is incorrect. As can be clearly seen on e.g. the following materials https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Braunschweig_1932-1945.png and https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Anhalt1897.jpg and https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freistaat_Anhalt#/media/Datei:Anhalt(1945).png, the Anhaltian area did not reach out that far to the west. The county (Kreis/Landkreis) of Blankenburg is shown as part of Anhalt, although it has always been a part of Braunschweig (and not of Anhalt).
