Naming

[edit]

@Ooligan: other than the writing in the corner, is there any other evidence one way or the other as to what this is named? Thanks. Elli (talk) 14:23, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Elli: @Richardkiwi: I do not have any other evidence about the name. Arthur Szyk appears to be the author of the hand printing on his artwork. Please, note the letter “D” in “London” and “Poland.” Also, other of his works in his Commons category [1] have similar hand-written script- titles and/ or comments, like on this work about lynching after WWII (note the purple heart medal which calls attention to a violence to African-American veterans [[2]]) [3]. This artwork’s title uses “Germain” as wordplay on Germany occupation of Poland. I just wanted the this file to accurately reflect this author’s apparent title as written in the lower left. @Ooligan: ok, thanks for the clarification. I'll rename the file. Elli (talk) 06:39, 8 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
