Fraudulent date given

As someone else has posted, this is not a photo from 1874. The building was sold in 1874 and there followed several years of building construction and alterations before it was suitable to open as a hotel. There were no visible external signs, as evidenced from other precisely dated photos, until after 1880. The filename needs to be changed -- e.g. to "Athens Hotel Grande Bretagne ca. 1885". 176.58.226.143 08:08, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Here are three more accurately dated photos of the building, and you can see that it is totally different from this photo -- implying that this photo is more like 1890s.
