Incorrect electorate boundaries? (Anachronism)[edit]

Thanks for your work, however as far as I’m aware those boundaries are wrong or don’t make sense.

They are electorates from at least 2007, 8 years before the referendum. The closest election to referendum with maps is from 2001, and has different boundaries - Farrer, in NSW is depicted as an electorate on the south west corner like a big L, however back in 2001, (or even 1998 based on library copies) was closer to the Murray River and did not touch the NSW-SA border - IIRC, some states gained and others lost - I think WA gained an additional seat between 1999-2007, so there’s an electorate marked that just didn’t exist

I have some images from a hard copy of a 1998 election map, but I am not very proficient in image editing. I can provide them if wanted, else I may get around to doing it some day Iamthinking2202 (talk) 08:34, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
