Licence

The file is tagged public domain for various reasons, and the original upload by Sir Iain had permission "Own work, all rights released (Public domain)" (until tag changed).

However, the original SVG file (before the smaller file was uploaded by Alkari) suggests the author was Christer Sundin (don't know if this is same person as Sir Iain) and a licence of CC BY-SA 3.0.

Is/was the embedded licence valid given the subject matter? Should the file be tagged as CC BY-SA 3.0 on Commons? -- JTN (留言) 17:40, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

It's essentialy the same symbol as in File:Flag of Saxony (state).svg. This rendering of the Saxon Arms is PD. Sir Iain (留言) 19:03, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

Are you the Christer Sundin whose name is in the original file (and thus able to rule on the intended licence)?

Otherwise, perhaps the original uploader of File:Flag of Saxony (state).svg, Madden, is Christer Sundin? I don't see an AVG on the quoted source so I guess they must have drawn it.

No, I'm not. I'm the author of this file, wich is based on the PD rendering of the Saxon Arms used in the flag of the german State of Saxony. Sir Iain (留言) 19:41, 8 November 2015 (UTC)
