Sangemarmar should be spelled as a single word. First attemptted ascent by First Canadian Himalayan Expedition (FCHE) in 1964; first ascent by 1983 Japanese party. Named by E. Fred Roots, exped. leader after the marble rock present on the mountain. It means beautiful white rock eg marble. Hachinder Chhish or Kish mountain was also named by FCHE as part of a climbing application, being a prominent peak along the ridge from Hachinder Hill, an approx. 13 - 14,000 ft. ridge-end knob immediately above the Hunza Valley, marked on maps as a survey point. (Don Lyon, FCHE dep. ldr)

OK, I changed it. Thank you for the info. Do you know if it's only Sangemarmar or if it's Sangemarmar Sar (or maybe Chhish or even Kangri - no not in that area, i gues)?--Rupert Pupkin (talk) 14:47, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[返信]
