If you see something you know is wrong, fix it. Chances are, if you screw up, it will be reverted and fixed as soon as someone notices it. +Hexagon1 (t) 05:58, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Catalonia[edit]

Don't know how nobody noticed this since the latest version was uploaded in February, but this map has an independent Catalonia

There's a stray gray pixel in southern Egypt[edit]

The current version of the map has a light-gray pixel in southern Egypt that should be the same dark gray as the rest of Egypt. Eubulides 02:20, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please continue[edit]

Please continue working on this map, wikipedia community. It is very worthwhile and interesting. Thank you to those who have already contributed!

The US[edit]

I know I sound like an imperialist or a US-centric douche, but the US states are all wrong. I would fix it, but I just learned Photoshop like 3 weeks ago, and I never could do it in Paint.

In what way is it wrong? Saimdusan 05:06, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Higher resolution possible?[edit]

If anyone still has the original source files for this map, is there any way they could render and upload a higher-resolution version? The higher the better, quite frankly. I do a lot of work with wildlife range maps for Wikipedia articles, and I'm trying to create a single template that will allow me to make range maps for everything from a worldwide species to one that only lives in a single region. Because of that, I need something that shows the political subdivisions (US state lines, Canadian provinces, etc.) but is large enough that I can zoom in and save smaller segments that are still acceptably sharp. Obviously an .svg file would be perfect for that due to the scalability, but a .png would work fine too if it was large enough. Thank you. - Ken Thomas 18:03, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regions of the Philippines[edit]

Can you add the regions of the Philippines? I would like that. - Eire9999 18:06, 18 June 2008 (EDT)

SVG replacement[edit]

When this map is replaced with an .svg equivalent, it should be based on .

Kosovo[edit]

Please add it. And the Polish Voivodships? 78.148.100.102 08:38, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kosovo has been added several times, but people keep removing it, claiming it is 'not recognized'. It might be true that its independence is controversial (see Kosovo relations.png), but the problem is that maintaining the status quo on this map, i.e. showing it as part of Serbia, is not NPOV either. Perhaps disputed territories and such should be indicated in a unique color.

Algeria[edit]

I added some, but not all of the provinces of Algeria. Algeria is a big country, and the southern part - in the Sahara - has about 8 large provinces that were easy to draw in. The remainder, the more densely populated north, is about the same size as one of these big provinces. However, this northern portion of the country consists of 40 tiny provinces that are way too small for this map. I did not and could not draw in these small provinces.

For the purpose of (e.g) a population density map, this serves the purpose because it shows the contrast between the empty desert and the developed north. But it is not quite accurate and complete, and you might even think of it as misleading.

In short, how I did this might not be the best way to deal with this, so ideas/comments are welcome. See the wiki article.

Pacific Islands[edit]

I love this map but I would like to see some more attention to the Pacific islands, I know there are so many small ones but it seems the maps like this with the sub-divisions are very lacking in that area.

Projection[edit]

What projection is this map using? That seems like basic information which should be easily available, but I don't see it anywhere on the page. 95.19.216.216 21:15, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Catalonia[edit]

The map shows Catalonia (in Spain) as an independent country with its own subdivisions. 75.44.44.82 13:57, 2 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Identify[edit]

Please identify the territories in the lower right-hand box.--Expertseeker90 (talk) 22:14, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

First level subdivisions - UK[edit]

The first level subdivisions of the UK are the four constituent countries. English regions are not first level subdivisions of England (See Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_country_subdivisions_by_population) Regards --Ransewiki (talk) 14:25, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In need of expansive editing[edit]

This map is great, for being as accurate as it is compared to others. Is missing many things, and feels largely incomplete.

Example 1: Many national capitals in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania are absent.

Example 2: Editing to island nations like Fiji and Tonga is in order.

Example 3: Many pacific and Oceania island nations with their reefs and atols are largely mis shaped or absent. Like Canton and Enderbury, Kiribati, Pitcairn Islands, Tuvalu, ect.

Example 4: Who can just add Australia, without the Great Barrier Reef?!

Further subdivisions in China?[edit]

Is there a way at least some of the subdivisions in China can be subdivided further in this otherwise excellent blank world map? Of China's provincial regions, Xinjiang in particular should show further subdivision. Kjk2.1 (talk) 05:21, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unless the newer "Blank World map current" was used, which is much bigger than this map, it would probably be impossible.--Expertseeker90 (talk) 11:53, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to the internal boundaries[edit]

Russia's internal subdivisions, aswell as others, are somewhat inaccurate and in need of an overhall. Someone should use a world map with subdivisions thats not over 15 years old, and not based on flat-map, equatorial line mappings. I've actually been doing my own sort of edits to some saved maps of mine of this kind, and the are really coming along! Quite a difference. --Expertseeker90 (talk) 11:48, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Apply to other historical maps[edit]

I wonder if anyone could aply the worlds political subdivisions as they would have looked in 1918, 20, 38, 40-45, maybe?--76.88.243.13 12:23, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Finally finished![edit]

I'm finally finished with the the current world map projection! I've also got maps done from the years 1880 through 2001. I hope to get it uploaded soon. Note: That since this effort was largely of my sole mission going back to 2015, a substantial amount of the coasts, lakes and rivers on most of the continents were in desperate need of a cleanup and have been carried out. The various Subdivision boundaries of countless nations; large and small (to be more up to date), have been vastly overhauled and or corrected. Also note: Seeing as that the first major edit that i had carried out was in the Pacific, Atlantic and Oceanic regions, specifically of major or minor islands and atolls, i had to erase the outer "World projections" cylindrical outer border, in order to properly be sure that the majority of the worlds islands, atolls and other land masses properly, or at the least lined up much more well than of previous projections. Sorry for that one. I hope it won't be to hard or complicated for a user or users to restore them back on to correctly portray the original Robinson projection as before. Final note: To uphold my honesty, i must give credit where credit is due to the users for their inspiration for my contribution and edits to this map and others:

LNR and DNR[edit]

If there's already LNR de-facto borders, please draw DNR de-facto borders. And include the Kharkov People's Republic de-facto borders too. 94.180.104.14 16:27, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Make version of this map with territories colored by each country.[edit]

Please make a version of this map with territories colored by each country. Cuz the islands are really confusing on this map, for example I don't know where is the Baker Island, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 94.180.124.63 (talk) 14:28, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Higher-res version of this map.[edit]

Can anyone do an higher-res 4k variant of this map, like this file so small states will be more visible and the islands are less confusing. 94.180.110.16 06:25, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
