Problem with Suwałki line

[编辑]

What sources were used in creation of this map? The second line (Foch line) seems incorrect, as it is different from the description given by Piotr Łossowski, Konflikt polsko-litewski 1918-1920, Książka i Wiedza, 1995, ISBN 8305127699, p.51 .--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 16:45, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[回复]

It was based on the images found in TLE (Tarybų Lietuvos enciklopedija) and VLE, also double check with some other Lithuanian historical book, but I cannot remember the name. Knutux 05:15, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[回复]
Thanks. The problem is that Łossowski clearly states that Sejny (Seinai) was on the Polish side of the Foch line; while the image suggests otherwise. See en:Sejny Uprising for the more detailed description of the line according to Łossowski; I have uploaded a copy of his map here; Foch line is the fifth one in the left column (linia Focha, continuous black). Our second line (of June 18) is Łossowski's 3rd in left row (interrupted black line). The first one in Łossowski's left row is our first, too ("final border after 1922"); he doesn't have a Suwałki treaty line but has two proposals in the right row (Lithuanian from 3 October as the third one, Polish from the 4 October as the fifth one; based on the fact that our yellow line goes under Ejszyszki/Eisiskes, it appears to be the Lithuanian line from the 3 October and I don't think we have sufficient ground to call the 3 October line the "Suwałki treaty" line; Łossowski describes them separately on p.168 and p.172; a big hint comes from Orany/Varėna: Lithuanian proposal left it secure on its side; Polish split it and Suwałki line from Oct 7 also split it - compare Polish and Lithuanian lines on Łossowski's map). PS. We need a description for the green line and the revised map version should include Polish exonyms in addition to Lithuanian ones.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 17:56, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[回复]
Exonyms are not that important. Polish toponyms are important though. 212.76.55.240 09:01, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[回复]

Kauno marios

[编辑]

Just noticed one minor thing: the map features the Kaunas Reservoir which was not created until early 1960s. Halibutt (talk) 14:47, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[回复]
