I do believe there's a mistake on this map, which seems pretty widely used: I was very surprised to see an unlabeled metropolitan see just west of Kashgar, which would seem to be in the vicinity of modern Murghab, in the Tajik Pamirs. This is high desert plateau of 3000+ meters, and to my knowledge has never supported populations of significant size. It's possible that it's simply a misplaced location (the map-maker's placement of Central Asian cities in general seems a little free), but looking at the reference book, Baum and Winkler's The Church of the East, A Concise History, I can find no reference to a metropolitan see in modern Tajikistan (or Southern Kyrgyzstan) at all. Can anybody else check this? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.40.195.208 (talk) 18:12, 28 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
