What is this ?

[edit]

This file, attributed to User:Samhanin, purports to depict the Coat of Arms of the Danish West Indies. However, the absence of any verifiable source supporting this claim raises legitimate doubts about its authenticity. Perhaps Samhanin could provide documentation or evidence to substantiate the accuracy and legitimacy of this representation. Without such validation, skepticism remains regarding its true origin and relevance to the West Indies’ heraldry. -- Pugilist (talk) 08:27, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Danish West Indies, from Flags of All Nations, Series 2 (N10) / Danish West Indies - Flags of All Nations,The materials I referred to are as follows. This coat of arms is drawn on the flag of the Danish West Indies. -- Samhanin (talk) 08:36, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So your source is an American tobacco advertisement ??? -- Pugilist (talk) 08:44, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
and Scott Stamp and Coin Co. The International Postage Stamp Album, 1894 Edition (New York: The Scott Stamp and Coin Co., Limited, 1893), Admiral Hesselberg’s Book of Flags etc -- Samhanin (talk) 11:13, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"The International Postage Stamp Album" ? A postage stamp album??? What do stamps have to do with flags?? On what stamp did this weird thing appear?? That is not serious ..
The other source that you mention (flagsaustralia.com.au) has a bit more weight, however, if you look into the source you will not find any depiction of the COA that you claim is genuine. In fact, the source does not even mention the Danish West Indies. --Pugilist (talk) 11:25, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I provided the source of the file I produced because you requested it. Because it was to prove that I wasn't completely creative, but based on my own rationale. Of course, that's possible about your thinking of the weight of the sauce. however can't you do something about the way you speak? Your way of speaking seems quite rude to me. Use a more businesslike tone --Samhanin (talk) 01:08, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Samhanin: Ensuring that information is correct and trustworthy is crucial for the integrity of Wikipedia.
It is unfortunate that you seem to have been offended, however, I think the important issue is to encertain that Wikimedia does not contain errornous and misleading information. Instead of arguing whether you have been approached in a way that you consider sufficiently businesslike, let’s work together to ensure that information is correct and trustworthy and provides accurate knowledge to users. Suggested name

[edit]

The file has nothing to do with the Danish West Indies. Moving the file to "File:Coat of arms of the Danish West Indies from american tabacco card.svg" implies that the file is actually a Coat of Arms of the Danish West Indies, which it is not and never has been.

Remove the extra "file" in the file name and leave it as it is: A depiction of two funny lions (or prairie dogs?) with a crown. --Pugilist (talk) 11:21, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
