According to this 19th century painting : http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6113/6866120168_1ec9b03ae6_o.jpg , the mantle should be red and without the golden pyramidal top.

The correct heraldry for the Brazilian imperial coat of arms, when it comes to the State.[edit]

There is a particular heraldic and vexillological rule concerning the color of the crown's lining: when the crown is represented on the crest or when it crowns the shield, it must be gules. Except when it is a coat of arms or emblems of the imperial family, where it must be vert. As described by Jean-Baptiste Debret and Félix Taunay, both directors of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts and responsible for Brazilian heraldry conception, at that time.

The ribbon forming a loop should be green and yellow, with the Order of the Cross with the blue ribbon coming under the loop, as shown here.

And the most appropriate crown representation, respecting dimensionality, would be this.

I have reverted the changes until the correction is made, the most correct of all, is for now, the one wearing both the mantle and the crown in red. Paraguassuu (talk) 00:09, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
