For that purpose we have Crookes tube diagram.svg
Even I only know one construction like this ( Schattenkreuzröhre-in use-lateral view-standing cross.jpg is one of my images) I'm sure that there are many more different constructions out there. Thereby I think we should keep it without any changes unless there is still another one which fits your suggestions.
