Winning of countries[edit]

Spain wins 6 times: 1985, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995, 1997 So please give Spain the right colour.

Yes, sorry. I make this map with English article, where Switzerland and Spain missed in basic article. Both countries wins Jury's special prize. I change it. Alex Great talk 10:54, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex Great: could you be so kind and correct France on the map so it shows their one and only win in 1989. Somehow it is showing 2 wins, when they have not won twice. I have tried to change it myself, but I am currently using Chrome OS and it will not allow me to save files to my Google Drive. Thanks. Wes Mouse | T@lk 11:47, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done. But I think that we need to discuss it, because D97v provided video, where at 52:14 show that France won 1st place with Spain at 1991. ← Aléxi̱s Spoudaíos talkrus?
@Alex Great: that video is for the 2003 contest, not the 1991 contest, for which is being claimed that France won. We already have official sources to verify that Ukraine, Sweden, and the Czech Republic won the 2003 contest. Wes Mouse | T@lk 14:37, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Wesley Mouse: Why are you so inconsiderate? Have you watched the video? In this video TVP2 provided a competion chronicle for all years where on said time interval specified commentary mark by this broadcaster: "SPAIN (ES) 1991: Shared 1st prize is Amaya Iglesias" Link1, "FRANCE (FR) 1991: Shared 1st prize is Emmanuel Thubault" Link2. ← Aléxi̱s Spoudaíos talkrus? 05:30, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex Great: stop it immediately with the attacking and rudeness. You have said yourself that you fail to understand English at times, so why are you accusing me of being "inconsiderate"? How am I being inconsiderate when all I said was the linked video was for the 2003 contest and not the 1991 contest. If you have difficulties with communicating and interpreting English properly, then perhaps you should work more on Russian Wikipedia, for which that is your mother tongue. Try bring their articles up to the same level as their English counterpart. And as I said, the video cannot be used as a source, because it is not uploaded to an official channel belonging to either the EBU, EYD, or TVP. It has been uploaded to a fans YouTube page, and that cannot be used as "official source". It becomes a copyright issue. And I know of this, as I had asked Moonriddengirl over on English Wikipedia about a similar case last year. And as she is fully knowledgeable on copyright issues, she stated that unless a YouTube video is uploaded onto an official YouTube channel, then it cannot be used due to copyright ownership. Only video links from official channels can. Wes Mouse | T@lk 15:31, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

France[edit]

France won in 1991 together with Spain as this video shows. So we should change the colour of France on the map. D97v (talk) 13:26, 4 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You can discuss it with community. Because I don't know the truth. ← Aléxi̱s Spoudaíos talkrus? 06:10, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The official video says that both France and Spain were winners so I think that we must say that France has won the contest twice. Ezeltje1598 (talk) 19:31, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Ezeltje1598: You only asked this question on 7 July, and then go and change the map 4 days later. You are suppose to allow reasonable time to pass and for a discussion to take place. Reasonable time is generally between 7 days to 1 month. Plus you didn't notify any projects that use the map about the question or even this discussion. Therefore the edit has been reverted. Please allow time for other's to contribute to the debate. That is how consensus is reached. Wes Mouse | T@lk 19:19, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The video was uploaded by a YouTube user and not one of the official channels. Although the video is legitimate, I'm not sure if it can be used, purely for the fat that Wikipedia only allows for YouTube videos that are from official channels, such as EBU or a national broadcaster that shares footage on YouTube. Plus I couldn't even hear a thing, even with my volume set to full-blast. Besides, we are talking about the 1991 contest. The video linked by D97v above, was the 2003 contest, in which Ukraine, Sweden, and Czech Republic won that year. Wes Mouse | T@lk 19:25, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've found a site. There is a data sheet about Emmanuel Thibault and it says that he got „Gold trophy at the Eurovision Young Dancers Competition (Helsinki).” Here is the site: https://www.operadeparis.fr/en/les-artistes/le-ballet/premiers-danseurs/emmanuel-thibault. @D97v: now that source is 100% better than the YouTube link, and it is safer to use that as a verified reliable source. The problem we have on English Wikipedia is a lot of the annual contest articles pre-2003 (when WikiProject Eurovision was established) are out-of-date, not formatted correctly, and some (including the EYD contests) have hardly any information about them whatsoever. I had made a start on re-writing the parent pages for the contests. But as is the case with real-life, a lot of problems arose and my single-handed task to re-write all of the other articles got left behind. What we could do with doing, with help from as many people, is to re-write each and every annual EYD article, with written context about them, correcting the results table, add information on all participants (not just the ones who qualified into the final). Doing all of that will then give us a clear picture of how the winners map should actually look. Wes Mouse | T@lk 11:18, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

EYD 2017[edit]

Can someone please update the map because as of 2017 Poland has won the contest three times. Ezeltje1598 (talk) 08:46, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
