Colors as defined by Dpt. of the Taoiseach

From the discussion above I was considering changing the colors in this flag to

RGB (green) 0-154-99 ; (white) 255-255-255 ; (orange) 255-130-61

If anyone has any thoughts or input please post them here. --Trounce 11:02, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Flag colors and personal taste

Please do not chage the colors used in this flag due to personal taste (i.e. I think the orange is too weak or the green isnt green enough, etc.!). The colors of the Irish flag are set by the Department of the Taoiseach. The colors are not a matter of personal taste. I was just wondering why are you taking Pantone uncoated colours instead of coated?? They give very different results.
Uncoated: #009A64 #FFFFFF #FF823D
Coated: #009543 #FFFFFF #FF7300

Pantone Coated is associated with other flags that have Pantone recommendations. There seems to be no discussion at en.wikipedia about whether to use coated or uncoated, and the mentioned PDF file doesn't indicate it either, so it seems more or less arbitrarily chosen. Also taking into account the opinions that the current tones look faded, we should definately use the coated tones instead unless someone finds any official information. –Vzb83 (talk) 13:03, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I reverted to the colours as discussed atbTalk:Flag_of_Ireland#.22Precise.22_colours. Uncoated is used because its closer to matt fabric. Coated is for glossy paper stock. --Trounce (talk) 18:04, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Also please be aware that there is a section of the Flag_of_Ireland article that states the colours of the flag and so any changes to the image file here then becomes out of sync with the article and vice versa.--Trounce (talk) 19:25, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
