exhaust nozzle[edit]

Afaik, turboprop and turboshaft engines also have an exhaust nozzle, as its main function is to regulate pressure values is the turbine. I can't see any reason, why it should be mentioned at the other gas turbine versions, but be omitted by 2. and 3.

In jet engines the main function of the nozzle is to convert pressure energy into kinetic energy. It is this function which is highlighted here. The nozzle in turboshaft and turboprop engines is mostly there do duct hot exhaust gases away from the engine (there is no regulation taking place as you suggest…). There is little conversion taking place and the thrust contribution from the exhaust gases is small. Ariadacapo (talk) 16:52, 16 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
