Not all use of color in Gray's images is instructive or apparently original; can this be fixed?[编辑]

When this image is used in the English Wikipedia article Brow ridges, the red, pen-like markings that have carried over from Bartleby's is distracting and not helpful at all. There isn't even a key on the Commons or at Bartleby's explaining the use of red in this image. I've seen such distracting coloration on other Gray's images before, I believe.

It would be great if such images were tagged and then replaced by images that have not been highlighted by somebody in the past, as I assume this was not part of the original plate. If there is a reason for such coloration from the original image, then there needs to be a key explaining why these particular features were brought out in the way they were, although actually the red color mask some of the words and makes it more difficult to decipher them. Sorry that all I can do is to suggest this! Geekdiva (留言) 22:48, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[回复]
