Misrepresentation[edit]

This image purports to show the situation during World War II around the Mediterranean, but misrepresents it considerably.
If the orange line is supposed to represent the extent of Italian territory before she commenced hostilities in June 1940, it includes Corsica, Tunisia and Dalmatian coast (which weren't under Italian control then), while it doesn't cover the whole of Libya (which was). If the green line is supposed to represent the extent of Italian control, it covers both the northern coast of Egypt (and the territory to the south as well, which never was occupied), which was under Axis (both German and Italian) control only from July to October 1942, and at the same time the South of France, Corsica and Tunisia which only came under Italian control in November 1942, when Libya had been lost and the Allies (Britain, the USA and France) controlled Algeria and Morocco. So it looks like it's an exercise in fascist wishful thinking, rather than having any historical value. Xyl 54 (talk) 21:14, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Xyl54 is wrong! This map show the project of Greater Italy and NOT the "situation during World War II around the Mediterranean". Please see the original Commons description, that I add here for the reader's convenience: Map of the 1940 project "Imperial Italia", inside the orange line and dots, in Europe and North Africa....The green line and dots show the biggest extension of Italian control in the Mediterranean sea in November 1942 (while the red shows the British controlled areas, like Malta).......please, Xyl54, your known hate toward WW2 Italy makes you do mistakes and write illogical lies....control yourself!...(;-D).... — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.134.29.164 (talk) 20:49, 26 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Still peddling your dreck, Bruno? How is "The green line and dots show the biggest extension of Italian control in the Mediterranean sea in November 1942" not "the situation during World War II around the Mediterranean"? Xyl 54 (talk) 17:54, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
PS: This'll make you laugh... Xyl 54 (talk) 17:56, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
