What can actually be seen here?

The caption in the german Wikipedia translates as “corpses of farmers who have starved to death“. In the english article on Holodomor it says “Starved peasants on a street in Kharkiv“. But looking closely I am actually not so sure if this is what can be here: I see likely male bodies dressed in rags on a sidewalk. One is lying alone, presumably sleeping, unconscious or dead. One is lying on his back, his naked feet standing on the ground and his knees upright. His right arm is covering his face, a pose that could be interpreted as resting. Next to his head sits a third man, maybe leaning against the fence behind him. On a closer look he seems to be observing the man next to him. Then there are two women walking by in opposite directions, one of whom observing the scene on the sidewalk. In my eyes the picture gives the impression of only one corpse, while the other two do not appear to be dead. I am not sure what to make of this, but why not raise the topic… Cheers, Andek (留言) 18:26, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

Thanks Andek, that's what i've been thinking when i took a closer look into the picture. And i doubt if the body in the left is really already death - in the end this will be hard to proof.
