Accuracy of date & Creator[edit]

The date of the original manuscript is c.1180. But this MS was destroyed by fire in 1870. Prior to colour imagery such as this being available.
I suspect this is an image of the copy made in 1818 by Christian Maurice Engelhardt.
When it comes to research the date of the imaged material is therefore not 1180 but should reflect when the material was actually created - and similarly who created it. A copy of a work should not bear the original date & creator. Its very much like art where such as "1818 artist A , after Artist B c.1180"

This is a facsimile, so the original author stands. Nonetheless it could be mentioned, but this is true for all files in the Hortus Deliciarum categories. I intend to change this step by step. — Speravir – 00:35, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
