Source data in table on page 21 of source

Abbasi786786. I found a table on page 21 of the source:

I assume those are the numbers you are using for the map?

The table is titled: "Figure 2. State-Level Estimates of the Average Household Firearm Ownership Rate, 1980–2016". I haven't read enough of the article to figure out what they mean by those years. Do they mean that the percentage for each state is the latest year available? And do they mean that some states only have data from 1980? --Timeshifter (talk) 02:33, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[回复]

@Timeshifter: Those numbers are averaged from every year between 1980 - 2016, and while probably more reliable overall, are out of date enough I decided not to use them (especially as gun ownership has declined in certain states while staying stable in others). I went onto the excel sheet that they had provided (inside the ZIP file on their website). They made projections for every single state and the proportion of gun-owning households every year from 1980 - 2016. I used the 2016 number. Same data's available on the back half of the PDF, but not in numerical format. -- Abbasi786786 (留言) 03:11, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[回复]
