Vague

[edit]

The legend of this map is too vague. What does "minority language" mean? Presumably almost every country has at least one Russian speaker, so Russian could conceivably be a "minority language" everywhere there isn't a majority. —Psychonaut (talk) 19:24, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, this should be better specified, also the image is missing sources at all, this should be corrected by author Fobos92 (or someone else). Otherwise it could be deleted. Jirka.h23 (talk) 07:44, 26 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Estoy de acuerdo, esto debe ser mejor especificado, también la imagen está faltando fuentes en absoluto, esto debe ser corregido por el autor Fobos92 (o alguien más). De lo contrario, podría eliminarse. Jirka.h23 (talk) 07:49, 26 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I would agree with user Jirka.h23, this map has several issues, and potentially should be deleted, as requested here: [1]. The other major problem is that the map shows areas of eastern Poland, Finland and Norwegian islands as containing a sizable Russian speaking minority, a completely bogus claim, not supported by facts. --E-960 (talk) 23:33, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fobos92, could you please provide any source for this image as you was asked? The factual accuracy was disputed. (I am chiefly interested in Siberia regions, what languages are there more used? It does not look much likely..). Jirka.h23 (talk) 15:03, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the templates, because sources are now already included. Jirka.h23 (talk) 07:44, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Majority/minority

[edit]

This map is a load of bull. Everywhere in Russia, Russian is the majority language. What language do you think they speak in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, for example? All of Russia should be dark-blue. 37.21.91.250 09:02, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see that your IP address is from Siberia, maybe you could give us a better source about northern Siberia? However, whole Russia for sure does not have a majority of Russian speakers in every region. For example in the Republic of Tuva, Tuvinians constitute a significant majority of 82 %. Tuvinians also speak their indigenous language in 99.7%. Jirka.h23 (talk) 10:49, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
However, it is also unclear whether the northeastern parts are not marked with a light color simply because they are an uninhabited zones. Jirka.h23 (talk) 10:55, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
