The name of this image is politically charged. By indicating that there are Italian dialects, it ignores that the languages are recognised as languages by the ISO in their ISO-639-3 standard, Ethnologue provides a list of Italian languages. Given also the obviously biased text on the English Wikipedia, there is not much credence to this map. GerardM 16:30, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Noneso?

Why this emphasis on the Noneso dialect? Why specifically listing 6 references that talk about the Nones dialect? Why coloring Noneso as a mix of Lombard and Dolomite Ladin?--Sajoch (talk) 17:59, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
This map [1] contradicts the affiliation of a Noneso to the Ladin language group, but lists it as a Lombard dialect.--Sajoch (talk) 18:02, 5 December 2012 (UTC)
Lingua veneta →Veneto

The language of the venetian area is now dubbed "lingua veneta" instead of "veneto", while the Original Pellegrini's map, i.e. the Carta dei dialetti d'Italia cited as reference, uses the latter. Moreover, the former contains a political connotation because of the 'lingua', which implies a sort of higher sociolinguistical status for "veneto" w.r.t. other dialects in the map. Such a viewpoint, which belongs to popular rethorics of regional separatist movements, is not shared by any dialectologist. For instance, one can check standard naming having a look at works by Flavia Ursini, Gianna Marcato, or Maria Teresa Vigolo.
