Discussion copied from my en.WP Talk page, re screenshot of CC licensed video

[编辑]

Hi! I believe that I have finally finally found some images that are suitable to be used on Jodie Comer's article. I just wanted to run it by you first, since you have been keeping on top of making sure there aren't any copyright violations on the page. The images are screenshots from YouTube videos with a CC license, it all seems legitimate to me. If you have any qualms with the images or if I have missed something, please let me know because I want to be certain that everything is A-okay before actually adding them to the article. I have already uploaded the images to Commons, so if there are any problems I will delete them as soon as possible. Anyways here are the images:

Thanks

@SINGmeAsadSONG:

  1. Leganerd.com is mentioned or used as a source on Italian Wikipedia about 20 times, and seems to be a genuine—albeit extremely sparsely viewed—entertainment website that appears to make its own original interview videos.
  2. Cinestera is barely mentioned on Portuguese-language Wikipedia, but has 46.7 thousand YouTube subscribers and appears to generate its own original videos.
Both videos state "Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)", which is not very specific and I don't know if it qualifies under Wikimedia Commons' CC licensing requirements. I'll investigate there, but things look hopeful for the very first time. —RCraig09 (talk) 14:21, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[回复]
It seems a bit suspicious, however, that the subject has the same blue background in both videos. —RCraig09 (talk) 14:45, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[回复]
SINGmeAsadSONG, I've submitted my question to Wikimedia Commons here, where you can follow any response and explanation. —RCraig09 (talk) 14:40, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[回复]
I've received the following reply already:
@RCraig09: Yes, YouTube's Creative Commons licensing is okay for Commons. According to [1], the specific license is CC BY 3.0. We even have a template for it: {{YouTube CC-BY}}. Make sure to also tag the upload with a license review template so the license can be verified. Derivatives of such videos, like screenshots, are also okay on Commons so long as they specify the original source and use the same license or a compatible one. clpo13(talk) 15:22, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[回复]
