Serious doubts

Counter-proposal: A more realistic map based on better sources

The borders of the "kingdom" (barely more than a chiefdom) are referred to this small 616x311px map which stretches from Bulgaria to Somaliland. The "Kurdistan state" is only over one or two milimeters, too small to see any town or any details, not more than just a yellow point. I have serious doubts that based on that map it is possible to create such a detailed map here. In fact, we do not know anything about the detailed borders. --Roxanna (留言) 18:36, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[回复]

I do not understand what is your problem here? Are you familiar with work in image editing software? It is very simple thing to increase size of small image which shows borders and then to insert another layer with another map which shows positions of main cities. Do you dispute positions of these cities or something? As I understand you only dispute my ability to make this map which is ridiculous. Accuracy tag have no place on this map unless you can prove two things: 1. that I wrongly depicted borders from source map and 2. that I wrongly depicted locations of cities. I have not seen that you presented such evidence. As for your own map, I do not see what kind of "counter-proposal" it could represent on this page? Wikimedia Commons hosts all kinds of images and your image have nothing to do with this image. Both are independent pieces of work and I have no any intention to discuss about your map, sources which you used for it or its accuracy. This is not place for such discussion. Well, I am quite sure that you very clearly know what the problem is. The source you gave can never be the source to these borders you made. The original is too small. It is not a question if it is possible to scalate it or not. It is a question that the small original map cannot be a prove for exact borders. So it is unimportant which cities would lay in your scalated map or not. The position of the cities is not doubted. The borders are doubts because it is impossible to see them in the small original source map. --Roxanna (留言) 21:36, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]
I refuse the validity of your argument. Which image editing software you using? In Photoshop, you can simply increase image size and you will have borders as they are in this larger map. It is very simple process. Your lack of skills in image editing should be not excuse to trash work of other people like this. As for your statement that "the small original map cannot be a prove for exact borders", it is based on what exactly? Your personal opinion? Are you even familiar with general historical mapping? Maps in historical atlases are never claiming to be fully "exact", but rather approximate. Same case is with my map and with source which I used. However, I think that your real problem is that you created your own map of this state and now you want to "remove" all other maps so that only your own work remains in wikipedia. Is that your real reason? Note that policy of Wikimedia Commons says that if you disagre about some image with uploader of that image you should upload your own image version under different filename. Since you already uploaded your own map which shows borders in accordance to your preferences, I sincerely do not understand what you doing on this page. Just increase a few dozens pixels to an accurate map??? You must be joking. Fact is that you have no proof for these borders. --Roxanna (留言) 17:48, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[回复]
