Manque: guernésiais

[编辑]

L'île de Jersey est présente (et dans un autre vert que le "normand") mais Guernesey, Herm et Sercq sont tout simplement manquantes. — Tonymec (留言) 19:49, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]

@Tonymec: Hi, I lost contact with the requester so I do need help to improve this map. Can you please write back in English (I can use translation but it's easier to keep all in English here) and exactly tell me what to change as I have no knowledge of this subject, thanks. Please ping me. --Goran tek-en (留言) 09:09, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]
@Goran tek-en: Missing: Guernesiais. The isle of Jersey is present (and in a different green than "Normand") but Guernsey, Herm and Sark are just missing. — This map shows the various dialects of "langue d'oïl" i.e. French as distinct from Occitan; but Jersey is the only Channel Island mentioned. Auregniais (Alderney French) is supposed to be extinct but Guernsey and, I think, Sark ought to be shown.
I originally wrote it in French because I arrived here from a link-to-image in the French Wikipedia and thought I was still there. After submitting I found out that it was actually a "Commons" picture but I thought that whoever could update an image about French dialects would at least understand French if not necessarily speak it. — Tonymec (留言) 10:51, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]
@Tonymec: I as a graphic worker have often zero or little knowledge of the different subjects I create maps/illustrations for. So I'm extremely dependent on the requester's (and others) information/knowledge. Is this correct? --Goran tek-en (留言) 17:10, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]
@Goran tek-en: Almost. The islands of Guernsey and Sark should be colored in some shade of green, and the corresponding labels (language names) are "guernesiais" (as you wrote it) for Guernsey but "sercquiais" for Sark. After checking the French Wikipedia page for Herm, I think any French dialect it may have had in the past is now extinct, so the isle itself may be left in outline with no label.
Which exact shades of green to use for the various islands is above my competence. I would have put all three of Jersey, Guernsey and Sark in the same green as "normand", since all of their French dialects are subdialects of Normand, but I suppose jerriais (Jersey French) could also be left as-is, with guernesiais (Guernsey French, with 1327 speakers in 2001) and sercquiais (Sark French, still spoken but only by a few tens of people) in similar or identical nuances of green. — Tonymec (留言) 23:30, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]
@Tonymec: Draft 2, I made them the same as I have no idea. --Goran tek-en (留言) 12:57, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]
@Goran tek-en: OK, then there remains to update the wiki image. One thing that bothers me: when I click now on your "Is this correct?" link above, I see all three islands in dark green for about one second, then the previous version replaces it. — Tonymec (留言) 13:20, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]
@Tonymec: The links should not be working any more as the images are removed now (the previous draft before), must be something with cash in google or so. Now the image is updated, it takes some time for the preview to do so. Thanks for your help. ✓ Done --Goran tek-en (留言) 14:10, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]
@Goran tek-en: Ah, yes, I see the new version now, after a no-cache refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R). Thanks a lot. — Tonymec (留言) 20:13, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[回复]

@Goran tek-en: After your "new version" of 16 november, the Channel Islands dialects other than jersiais have disappeared again. (See above for details.) Is this intentional? — Tonymec (留言) 18:49, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[回复]

@Tonymec Absolutely not, thanks for informing my. Look at this PNG draft and see if this is correct, also the colors of those islands. --please ping me-- Goran tek-en (talk) 20:00, 17 November 2021 (UTC)[回复]
@Goran tek-en: Looks fine to me, including changing the islands' colour to the same as that of Normand. — Let's check en:Jersey, en:Guernsey and en:Sark for the exact names of the dialects… jèrriais, guernésiais and sercquiais. — Tonymec (留言) 00:25, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[回复]
@Tonymec Didn't really understand but I checked colors and checked/changed the three names, draft-2. --please ping me-- Goran tek-en (talk) 09:46, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[回复]
@Goran tek-en: I can't find fault with this new draft: if you upload it just like that, I won't complain. — Tonymec (留言) 18:49, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[回复]
@Tonymec Uploaded. ✓ Done --please ping me-- Goran tek-en (talk) 19:01, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[回复]
