Renata notified me of her plan to nominate this map for featured pic. I generally agree and find this map one of the best we have here. There is one correction I would sugest though - and you probably could guess which is it. Currently the map explains that the dark green line marks the Borders of the Republic of Lithuania in 1923, recognized by Russia and Latvia, but not by Poland, which seems a tad too POV. Equally we could say that these are the Lithuanian claims on Poland as of 1923, unsupported by any government except the Soviet one. So, how about some more neutral wording? I would go along the lines of Lithuanian claims on Poland as per the Russo-Lithuanian treaty of July 12, 1920? Or something similar? Halibutt 01:49, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and I would change the Polish name of Warsaw to English. Halibutt 01:51, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Dark green line mark borders of Lithuania in 1923 and only the eastern part of it was not recognized by other countries and marks the border agreed with Soviet Russia. So either the colors shall be changed or additional line drawn indicating demarcation line between Lithuania and Poland, which later became the de facto border between the countries. Well, that's s exactly what I was speaking about. If we call that line a border, we should also add that it was not suppored by anyone. Also, take note that after 1921, when Poland signed a peace treaty with Russia and an alliance with Latvia, that "border" was supported by exactly one state in the world: Lithuania. A de facto border might be much more informative~(though Lithuanian claims could also be marked IMO). Halibutt 19:32, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
How about a new version (and its source - Image:LithuanianHistory.svg)? Knutux 06:35, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Much, much better. Report it for FP and I shall surely support. Halibutt 10:19, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Misspelling[edit]

This is a great map, but "Curent Republic of Lithuania" should have 2 Rs: "Current Republic of Lithuania" Jnestorius 01:02, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tallinn[edit]

Tallinn is located on the coast of Baltic Sea, not in the inland. ;-) -- Acf 10:11, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
