Origin

The image claims "a work of a sailor or employee of the U.S. Navy, taken or made as part of that person's official duties", without naming a photographer, only a donor. This one is from a Flickr feed, but I failed to find it at [1], to see whether it gave more info.

This copy of the same image, has "This work created by the United Kingdom Government..." with photographer named as "Surgeon Oscar Parkes". Source: [2]

Clearly the image ends up as PD, whichever is true, but this contradiction doesn't look right. Davidships (talk) 17:21, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
