Lithuania did not have a Protestant majority[edit]

The map shows the area that is now Lithuania as being majority Protestant or unlabeled. But it was majority Catholic then, just as it is now. Although Protestantism had made inroads among some noble families in the 16th century, it never truly took hold among the bishops, the monarchy, or the common people -- as the article cited by the Religion in Lithuania article, citation 6 shows. And after the Counter-Reformation and by the early-mid 17th century, it would have retreated even further, mostly to the cities and among the German minority.
