2022 update

Over ten years ago, I created the SVG version of this map based on the AfDB membership list in the English Wikipedia article. I had a chance to revisit this map now, and after diving into the data on the AfDB website, have identified a big issue with this map: it mixes different kinds of data. It's better to split this into multiple maps:

  • African Development Bank members: regional and non-regional member countries, special cases like ADF-only[1]
  • African Development Fund classification by ADF cycle: categories A, B, and C[2][3]
  • African Development Bank Group approvals by year: gradient map[4]
