I have not found any valid source confirming a request from Uruguay to join this organization. There is not even a single public statement in the state website (gub.uy) mentioning something like this. The fact that the image was loosely based on what the text from English Wikipedia was written is not serious, given that it contained that claim with a source, but the cited source did not mention Uruguay at all. This image should have been created using valid sources as its basis to not make this kind of mistake. Therefore, at least Uruguay should be removed from being referred as a candidate in the image when it is currently not. --Onwa (talk) 22:58, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia being 'Aplicant'[edit]

Indonesia has rejected the invitation of joining BRICS. Furthermore, the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo has stated: "To become a new member of the BRICS, a country must submit a letter of expression of interest, all must submit the letter, and until now Indonesia has not submitted the letter," therefore Indonesia does not become an 'applicant' of BRICS.
