Map data sourcing[编辑]

Hi. Thanks for the map. Are you using both UNODC and World Bank data?

If so, could you make another SVG world map with just UNODC data. I think a UNODC-only map would be better for this page:

Also, the World Bank link in the source section doesn't seem to go to the data.

Do you have a better World Bank link, and/or can you explain how you get to the data? --Timeshifter (talk) 00:59, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[回复]

Allice Hunter. I am interested in the World Bank data because I may add a separate country table with just World Bank data. But I need to get to the data, and I am unable to do so. I guess I need to dig around more, but I thought you might have already figured it out. --Timeshifter (talk) 21:03, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[回复]
Timeshifter Hi. I used mainly the UNODC data which is used in the list on English Wikipedia. However, I noticed there weren't data for some countries in the list, so I decided to look for another source in order to shade those countries with some colour on the map, even if the data was out of date, then I found World Bank data. I think I have used data from World Bank for only three or four countries on the map but I'm not sure. I'll send you the link I used soon. Unfortunately, links usually get corrupted when the upload is done. − Allice Hunter (Inbox) 23:47, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[回复]
This is the right link: World Bank data. Just like I imagined, for an unknown reason, when the upload is done the "|" are turned into "%7C" and merge different parameters in the reference template, so it changes the link. The values in the World Bank list are rounded, to get the exact value I type the country's name in the search field and the most recent data from that country is shown. I think you won't need to add a separate country table since the data matches UNODC data. Perhaps it is best to mention the World Bank in the header of the current table and add the countries that are missing data to the list (like Papua New Guinea). − Allice Hunter (Inbox) 00:07, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[回复]

Wrong colorʔ[编辑]

Austria with 0,7 in Middle Green, but Croatia with 1,0 in Dark Green? --2A02:8388:4081:E880:F091:6435:26B1:3F3F 06:42, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[回复]

Saint Pierre and Miquelon[编辑]

I think there is an outlier of 1 homocide in Saint Pierre and Miquelon, which puts it as red in this map because of their small population. This seems kind of misleading, and it strikes me as more sensible to use the homocide rate of either France or Canada, or leave it out of the map entirely. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2600:1700:232A:8210:145A:371A:AE1B:5319 (talk) 08:11, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[回复]
