It should read 'army strength' instead of 'losses in men' in the description of the graphic, right?

Still, the original description is "Cartes figuratives des pertes successives en hommes de l'armée française de Russie en 1812-1813". 'pertes successives' = 'cumulative losses in men'. the number written are in 'losses in men' btw. Esby (talk) 11:45, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[回复]
Indeed, the entire graph aims to show the losses. But the data quantified (both by the path width and by the numbers) is the size of the remaining army. Ariadacapo (talk) 14:57, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[回复]

I love the fancy writing in the picture. Does it have a name?

Is it, perhaps, a nationally focussed script for France; like Fraktur for Germany?
