This picture quite certainly does not depict the Battle of Malaga. It is equally certainly one of approximately 10 versions of a battle against seven Algerine pirates, conducted by a Captain Kempthorne. There were at least two such battles, in 1669 and 1681. This composition most probably represents the battle of 1681.
