Does Museum of the Argentine Bicentennial really owns the copyright of this work by en:Numa Ayrinhac (1881—1951), a Franco-Argentine artist (born in France, died in Argentina), famous for painting portraits of Eva and Juan Domingo Perón? Argentina has +70 years pma. Would be copyrighted till the end of 2012... Related: http://www.wikimedia.org.ar/2012/12/21/wikipedia-invadio-el-museo-del-bicentenario/. Hi Gunnex,
Both artworks were commissioned as a work for the Presidency of the Argentine Republic and their rights were duly transferred to them. When the Bicentennial Museum was created, several works of the Casa Rosada and its museum were transferred to the new one. I talked personally with the people in charge of the collections of the museum and they assured that the copyrights of both artworks were owned by them.
As you can see on its website, the museum has a larger art collection. However, the copyright situation wasn’t that clear for other works and in others, the Museum didn’t own them at all (in particular, Ejercicio plástico by David Alfaro Siqueiros). For those cases, we didn’t upload any picture avoiding any copyright violation. Kind regards, Osmar Valdebenito (WMAR) (talk) 02:01, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[回覆]
