Bhimbetka or Pachmarhi?

[edit]

According to [1] this is from Bhimbetka, while [2] states that this is from Nimbubhoj, Pachmarhi. Bhimbetka and Pachmarhi are >100 km apart. Which place is this from? Utcursch (talk) 10:41, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Utcursch and Utcursch:
Well, I'm still exploring that...the academic source identified the place as Bhimbetka.
This page gives a lot more info, but isn't helpful...National Mission on Monuments and Antiquities. The cave is apparently called Nimbu bhoj and isn't in a town.
This page, with the best photo I've found called the home, the "Pachmarhi hills of Central India." Today I can't find my source that simply said "Pachmarhi." Jacqke (talk) 22:22, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
According to the Government's NMMA, Nimbu Bhoj is a place near Pachmarhi (which is the closest bus stop). Most probably this painting is from Nimbu Bhoj, and some sources have confused it with the more famous Bhimbetka. Utcursch (talk) 08:50, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
