This map should show Mexico. It doesn't make sense to cut off the map at the southern end of the modern United States because there was no United States at this time anyway. --P. S. Burton (talk) 14:33, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[回覆]

Western Borders of La Louisiane

[編輯]

Why does this version of map differ with most other versions, which portray the largely empty parts of areas between Spanish Californias and the core parts of La Lousiane a part of La Louisiane? In this version, a large part of areas nominally claimed by France and Spain are coloured grey. Why? What's the main source for this? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 113.116.23.231 (talk) 12:11, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[回覆]

The location marked as Fort Rosalie in northwestern Louisiana is actually Fort St. Jean Baptiste/Natchitoches, Louisiana. Fort Rosalie was located near the modern city of Natchez, Mississippi, further to the east along the Mississippi River and a little south (31°33′38″N 91°24′11″W). One solution would be to replace the "Fort Rosalie" label with "Fort St. Jean Baptiste" or with "Natchitoches"; the other would be to move the starburst for Fort Rosalie to along the Louisiana/Mississippi border. (This image has more SVG magic going on than I'm comfortable trying to edit ... I don't want to mess anything up.) —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 21:12, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[回覆]
